Heatwave in Haute-Saône
July 2022: braving the heatwave, our participants set off to discover Haute-Saône! Great encounters await them, marked by sharing and by discovering the region's unmissable local produce. The cherry on the cake: a little Fougerolles kirsch?
This time it’s Jean-Yves and Axel who brave the heatwave and embark on the P2P adventure. For this edition, they immerse themselves in the Franc-Comtois accent and discover the heritage of Haute-Saône! From Vesoul to Gray and Luxeuil, by way of the Thousand Ponds plateau, the region will hold no more secrets for them.
Both pairs left Dijon at 8 am on Monday 18 July and returned on the evening of 19 July, hitchhiking only.

The Leap — It is 13 metres high and located in the commune of Servance. But where?
The Doue de l'Eau waterfall (Servance-Miellin, on the Ognon).
The Corbusier — It's a rather special site with, among other things, chapels, a convent and a peace pyramid. Find this place.
The Notre-Dame du Haut chapel is a Catholic chapel built from 1953 to 1955 on Bourlémont hill in Ronchamp, Haute-Saône.
The Architect — While strolling around Luxeuil-les-Bains, you'll need to find the town's finest mansion.
Luxeuil-les-Bains has a remarkable heritage. The tourist office offers a heritage trail through the whole town in 14 stops, where you can discover the town's iconic monuments, some of which are among its 17 listed historic monuments. The Vergy — This neoclassical medieval castle has suffered many fires… but it has always been restored! It currently houses a museum. Which one?
The Château de Champlitte was built in the 18th century in the commune of Champlitte, Haute-Saône. It currently houses the Departmental Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions.
The Mural — In the department's “Port” lies the Human Rights mural.
Port-sur-Saône. The Human Rights mural, painted in November 1990, is on the church square.
The Planey — To complete this challenge, you'll need to go into a small forest and walk about 500 m. There you'll find a family spot with a magnificent spring.

The Cherry — A huge cherry stands in the department, at the entrance to a village… Find it and work out why it was put there.
Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert is known for its cherry-based food economy, the cherries being used in particular to make Fougerolles kirsch and griottines.
The Virgin — She is the emblem of the town and offers a panoramic view over the Durgeon valley.
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Motte chapel, or simply the chapelle de la Motte, is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and stands at the top of La Motte hill in the centre of Vesoul, Haute-Saône. It is one of the town's historic monuments.
The Official One — This Renaissance building has a typically Burgundian roof and Corinthian columns.
The town hall of Gray is one of the most prestigious Renaissance buildings in Franche-Comté.
The Sweet One — Along the Ognon, biscuits and charlottes are the dessert specialities. Go to the village known for both.
The Montbozon biscuit is a pastry speciality from the Haute-Saône village of Montbozon.
